Located by the Ovens River and overlooking beautiful Howitt Park the Riverdeck in Bright has been an icon for over 20 years.
The café and deck were a fabulous addition to the original Masonic Lodge with its history evidenced by the beautiful stone wall and substantial Old Pine Mill timbers within the café.
The Riverdeck boasts fantastic views through the famous Bright treescapes to river walks, bike paths and children’s playground. There are few better places to relax with family and friends. In spring, summer and autumn – you can soak up the sun and enjoy the beautiful outdoors, or sit inside and keep cool. In winter, we have heating for you outside or you can stay warm indoors.
Fully licensed and open 7 days a week, with ample indoor and alfresco seating, the ‘Riverdeck’ is an easy stroll from anywhere in town. Whether you are visiting by bike, motorcycle, car or bus you will find plenty of free parking adjacent to the cafe. (If you are looking for us, we are located above Howitt Park, adjacent to the Bright Visitor Information Centre…see a map here.)
Free Wi-Fi is available to our guests and the ever-changing menu specials ensure tasty new treats to enjoy on every visit.
Recent new owners, Brisbanites, Robyn and Greg Schultz are excited about their tree change life in Bright and the future of the cafe.
Whilst continuing its long tradition of fantastic food, family friendly atmosphere and superb coffee, the Riverdeck has been undergoing a few transformations. August 2015 saw a total refurbishment inside and out, with further changes being planned.
Over the warmer months the Riverdeck offers alfresco dining with a focus on relaxing and enjoying the wonderful surroundings with amazing local food and wine.
So come and say hi and experience the destination that is the Riverdeck!
